Alan has moved!!
Alan is now the Priest in Charge of Llanstadwel.
Alan says:-
“I am sorry if this has had to come as a surprise to you all. It might also be sad news to some. There is sadness too, for Mary and me, and for Cerys and Tim, who have, of course, lived their whole lives here. We have not made the decision lightly, but I believe this move is the right thing not only for us, but also for the parish. I think God has great things in store for Hubberston and Hakin, but the parish needs someone who will give it leadership under God over something like a five year time scale, a length of time to which I am increasingly unable to commit. A new priest, pastor and leader will, I feel, be better able to grow God’s kingdom here. The Diocese is committed to replacing me “like for like” with another Rector of Hubberston. There is no prospect of merging Hubberston with another parish. So, we need to start praying now for that person. I would value your prayers for us, too.
“There are two rather unusual consequences of my remaining Area Dean: I will continue to have oversight of Hubberston during the interregnum. I can therefore guarantee to keep any arrangement you have made with me for a 2011 christening, wedding, or indeed funeral. I will still take the service! Secondly, I will have some input into the appointment of my successor.
